A panama hat in a fine grade is rare and highly sought after because it so intricate, with its 30 weaves per inch. Currently in Ecuador there are only a handful of weavers who are skilled enough to weave this grade. For those customers who search for only the best, a fine grade panama hat is legendary. Former US president Teddy Roosevelt helped make them popular in the early 1900's, but they are still popular today as seen on celebrities and dignitaries around the globe. All fine grade panama hats can be rolled and will keep their shape for decades to come
All of our fine grade panama hats are hand woven by local weavers in cuenca and then sent to our factory in Cuenca, Ecuador for hat blocking and finishing. For more information about this grade of panama hat please see our FAQ page.
